Electronic Systems Test Technician

Position Summary
The Electronic Systems Test Technician will perform complex electronic testing and troubleshooting down to the component level.

  • Performs troubleshooting and re-work activities.
  • Performs highly complex electrical and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Works from complex schematics, assembly blueprints, and/or verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Prepares recommendations for improvements in methods or processes for improved productivity and quality.
  • Interfaces with Design Engineers and QA Department on a regular basis.
  • Other applicable duties, as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements

  • AA/AS in Electronics Technology, ASEET, or equivalent.
  • Two to five (2-5) years experience troubleshooting and repairing digital and analog circuitry (PC board level).
  • Skilled in the basic test and measurement equipment such as DMM, O-scope, Ref Generator, cable tester, calipers, or torque wrench.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to use common hand tools.
  • Very good soldering skills.
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing standards.
  • Working knowledge of Ohm’s Law and Algebra.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of mechanical assembly experience.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to perform repetitive motions; to sit, talk, and/or hear.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., as required.
  • Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Required to work on concrete floors, wearing steel toe shoes and safety goggles, up to 12 hours per day.
