Schilling Robotics is organized to meet the challenge of creating custom solutions. From concept and engineering to manufacturing, integration, and service, Schilling Robotics provides full-spectrum engineering support.
Schilling Robotics is organized to meet the challenge of creating custom solutions. From concept and engineering to manufacturing, integration, and service, Schilling Robotics provides full-spectrum engineering support.

The company is organized into functional departments that interact as required for cross-functional activities. When Schilling Robotics undertakes a project, it identifies the required resources and matches project needs to the skills and experience of staff members. Primary project team members are program managers and design engineers, but the project team also includes appropriate representatives from support groups such as quality assurance, after-sales service, and manufacturing engineering. Staffing levels are periodically assessed during the project and adjusted as appropriate.

In a recent recognition of its ETO capabilities, Schilling Robotics was selected by the MARUM Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, University of Bremen, Germany, to supply major subsystems from Schilling’s Remote Systems Engine™ (RSE) for MARUM’s MeBo, a new, self-contained, remotely operated, deepwater drilling system.

MeBo is used in scientific research projects at depths up to 4000 meters to drill holes or retrieve core samples up to 50 meters long, and to perform in-situ measurements with sensor probes.

MeBo leverages components from the RSE, a suite of simple, reliable, and powerful equipment and control software modules that can be used to perform generic remote systems functions. The RSE building blocks used in MeBo’s design and development include a device for distributing electrical power and signals, the cables and connectors for all instruments and devices, power converters, rotary actuators, video display equipment, and software modules.
